Blog25.08.2010: Excitement rises...Some time ago we had three concerts all across Finland; one in the east, one in the west, and one in the south of our beautiful summery country. It's refreshing to tour our motherland when the nature shows it's most beautiful and brightest face. We are used to seeing her in November-December, during our Christmas tours, wearing her greyish white dress. In Kajaani we shared the stage with Finland's only professional big band, UMO Jazz Orchestra from Helsinki. They had three fabulous soloists with them: young finnish singer-songwriters Tuomo Prättälä and Osmo Ikonen, and rapper-singer Axl Smith. We women listeners were spoiled also visually... Kokkola and Vihti offered us lovely churces with excellent acoustics, and enthusiastic people with smiling eyes and open hearts. Those things make our job the best of all! The last weeks we have been finishing our Tarinoita (Stories) album, which is tingling exciting! We have for example decided the order of the songs and what kind of a cover and booklet the album will have. What makes it even more exciting than before is that for the first time we've had the freedom to make the album sound and look just the way we want it to, which is because we established our own record company. Can't wait to hear people's feelings about our newcomer... Only five weeks to go! Dearest Diary, when I add to all the above-mentioned that we've finally found a cosy place of our own (with the perfect traffic connections for all of us) for rehearsing, what else could there be to make an ensemble singer even more grateful?! Perhaps one sincere wish is allowed: that people will find our stories and the places where we tell them. Virpi
