Blog18.12.2008: Christmas tour in Finland – checked!Christmas tour in Finland – checked!Dear Diary, yesterday was the last concert of the tour in Turku and I have to admit that I feel like an empty balloon. Everything went really well and just the way we had planned it so I can smile and be glad, and that’s about all I can do right now! But before the last concert we toured the Northern part of Finland. In Kuusamo we met our most civilized audience EVER; the people SPONTANIOUSLY formed a queue for having autographs and meeting us after the concert. We were amazed, and pleased of course! Everybody got what they wanted and there was no need for rushing or pushing. Although I do like the excitement and energy that comes out of LESS organized sessions too. After the show we drove srtaight to the Ruka skiing center so that we could go downhill skiing the first thing in the morning. It was magic! I have to recommend this. It was impossible to tell what time of the day it was because of the dusk and fog. The darkness is quite exotic actually. In my normal life I’m addicted to light, so I’ve surprised myself by saying this! With sore legs we had a gig in Oulu, but the audience there knows how to treat us well so we had a really good time! In Kajaani there's a very nice concert hall, Kaukametsä, where the acoustics are fantastic for us so it was really lovely to sing there. I think on this part of the tour we met quite a few people who came to our concert for the first time, and the connection felt good for us so we hope we will meet again. The Helsinki concerts at Kultsa (Kulttuuritalo) were worth the wait. It is just great to sing at home. It feels good to be in the same mood, everyone of us, right from the beginning. It was fun indeed. And to give the final concerts in Lahti and Turku was absolutely WISE scheduling. Good crowd, smiling faces, nice response. Yes, we like it! Today I made some cinnamon bread and only three angels were burned so I think it went quite OK. All the rest of the pig and star and dinosaur images were brown and tasty. (I HAD TO taste some!) Tomorrow I will pack my bags for Seoul, South Korea. The direct flight from Helsinki is the best gift we got this year!!!! And we’re really looking forward to the concerts. Wonderful to see if there are many people in the audience who we have met during the Amazing Voice festival. We will be missing all the singers from The Real Group, The Idea of North and m-pact a lot, but we hope to see them all there next year!!!! I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Thank you for following our website, thank you for your support. Your positive thoughts carry us. May your Christmas be bright, Essi << Previous | Next >> Back |
