Blog24.11.2008: The sleighride begins! The sleighride begins! It’s finally time to begin our Christmas tour! I’m writing this on our way to Hämeenlinna where we’ll have the first concert of this tour around Finland. We are driving in the middle of a heavy snowstorm and it feels like a sleighride. It‘s great to finally get out of our the rehearsal room and start sharing the things we’ve been practising hard with real people. In the next diary entry you will most probably find out how the first gigs of this tour went. The past few weeks we’ve been practising almost daily. In addition to that we’ve also had a few gigs. In the beginning of this week we visited Vienna for the first time. The trip to this artistic capital was unfortunately a pretty short one so we didn’t have much time for sightseeing. The organizers took good care of us – as well as the State of Finland: we were invited to have a delicious gourmet lunch to the Embassy of Finland with the ambassador who seemed to be very much into music and all sorts of culture. The organizers had also done very good job in marketing our concert. The house was practically full. We shared the evening with a German female quartet called Aquabella who started the concert. They skillfully performed songs from all around the world. After our set we improvised together with them which was a lot of fun. After coming back to Finland we didn’t have much time to recoup. The very next day we sang in a charity concert where we managed to collect a lot of money for children in need. In that concert we could also perform a few new songs that will be part of this coming tour. The premieres went well which means that we can start our tour in a calm state of mind. So, for the rest of this year we’ll be touring around the wintry Finland – the home country of the Santa Claus. Before Christmas we’ll still make brief visits to Tallinn, Estonia and Seoul, Korea. As you can see, we are going to be pretty busy, but Christmas arrives soon which means lots and lots of relaxation and rest to all of us…
Take care everybody. Thank you for visiting our website! << Previous | Next >> Back |
